• At RCHS, students are given numerous opportunities to get involved, support the school, and participate in activities that will develop them into productive, well-rounded individuals. Some of the organizations to which Richmond Community’s students belong are listed below with a brief description.

    Community Council
    The Richmond Community High School Community Council serves the student body by representing the variety of opinions and interests of the students; aiding communication between the administration, faculty, and students; protecting student rights; and generating school spirit through SGA-sponsored activities.     Honor Council
    The Richmond Community High School Honor Council is a student-run body whose sole purpose is to educate the students, faculty, and staff about our school's expectations of academic integrity. The Honor Council will investigate and bring to trial any teacher-reported violations of our school's Honor Code. The Honor Council is comprised of teacher-nominated students who are then interviewed and selected by current Honor Council members. A faculty sponsor monitors all meetings and trials.


    Honor Societies

    National Honor Society (NHS)
    The purpose of the National Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students at Richmond Community High School. Richmond Community High School students who have a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 or higher meet the scholarship requirement for membership. These students are then eligible for consideration on the basis of service, leadership, and character.
    NHS members at RCHS plan and implement a series of service projects during the school year. These projects include events such as the following: food drives, fundraisers, spirit events, holiday events, leadership programs, awards events, induction ceremony and more.

    Mu Alpha Theta
    Mu Alpha Theta is the National High School and Mathematics Honor Society at Richmond Community High School. The RCHS Mu Alpha Theta chapter is dedicated to inspiring students to develop a keen interest in mathematics, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in the school. Mu Alpha Theta achieves these goals by conducting mathematics tutorial sessions, organizing events to recognize students for excellence in mathematics, planning an induction program and hosting fundraising activities. To become a member, students must have already taken—or be currently enrolled in—Pre-Calculus. (Link to Google Meet)

    French National Honor Society (FNHS)
    The Société Honoraire de Français (The French National Honor Society) is an organization whose intent is to recognize high school students at RCHS who have maintained excellent grades in at least three credits of French language classes; this is done by induction into the organization.Spanish National Honor Society

    Spanish National Honor Society (SNHS)
    (Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica) is an academic honor society focused on Spanish Language excellence at RCHS. The Spanish National Honor Society seeks to promote a continuity of interest in Spanish studies.

    National Art Honor Society (NAHS)
    Richmond Community High school students inducted into the National Art Honor Society must be enrolled in advanced art classes and maintain at least a 'B' average or better. School chapter activities include preparing school and community exhibits, visiting museums/galleries, and other school art related activities.

    National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)
    The National Technical Honor Society chapter at RCHS was established to recognize student achievement in career and technical education. The NTHS mission is to encourage students to develop the necessary skills for the workplace and college and build effective relationship with business and industry. Students selected for membership must be enrolled in and have no less than a “B” average in a career and technical education classes.
