    Greetings Fox Families!

Welcome to our William Fox Elementary school website!  We hope you will find the information you are looking for on this page.

William Fox Elementary is a special place with warm and friendly teachers, parents, and students.  I am grateful to have been the Principal here since 2004.

There is something magical about our century old building that speaks to everyone who enters. I’m not sure if it is the hardwood floors, tall ceilings, and huge windows; or, the smiling faces of a diverse group of staff members and students that grace our school building each and every day, that brings about a feeling of excitement that you will remember forever.

Since 1911, our school has been at the heart of the community.  We continue to work to make our community a better place by welcoming everyone to our school building and by including and accepting everyone into the Fox Family.  The relationships that are built between staff members and students (and their families) continue to forge lasting impressions on people. These relationships are strong and students continue to come back and visit our school building and staff members well into adulthood, either by dropping by the annual Strawberry Street Festival in May, or by walking in the annual “Senior Walk” where graduating students return to walk the halls of their elementary school before heading off to college, or to the ‘real world’.  Our families, teachers, staff members and community members all have a vested interest in making our school a great place to be.

Our school is committed to enable and empower young people to develop creative, inquisitive minds; strong healthy bodies; and caring compassionate hearts through challenging and engaging learning experiences, guided by innovative, compassionate educators.  We cannot do this alone!  We invite you to partner with us, communicate with your child’s teachers, and participate in your child’s education, and school activities.  We are here to promote academic excellence and to make our world a better place.

If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to say “hello”, please feel free to contact me:  djacobs2@rvaschools.net or 804-780-6259.

  • RPS Direct Update - September 17, 2021

Dear #RPSStrong Family, Happy Friday! Tonight's updates: Mask Reminders – Parents and caregivers, please be sure students have their masks on when approaching and boarding the school bus. This helps ensure a safe and speedy boarding process. Please also make sure to send your students with a mask that fits their face. Adult size masks are not appropriate for small children, as they do not fit tightly (see CDC graphic below). If you need pediatric masks, your school can provide them. Thank you for helping keep RPS safe! COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate – RPS employees, please be reminded that you have until October 1 to submit full proof of vaccination or obtain a religious/medical exemption. Though I pray it doesn't come to this, please understand that any employee who does not meet the requirements of the mandate will face progressive discipline, including loss of employment.
