Principal's Message

TO THE RESILIENT CLASS OF 2021:

March 13, 2020, brought a new type of challenge to our lives, you were almost complete with your junior year and suddenly a world of uncertainties was before us as schools across the nation were closed for the remainder of the school year.  The virtual world was upon us.  As you entered the virtual halls of your senior year in September 2020, we were filled with excitement and relief, you were FINALLY a senior! This year was going to be both exciting and challenging; life as a senior in high school looked much different this year.

However, regardless of the challenges we, YOU, went through this year, it is important to remember that success is not measured by the challenges you face; every journey has it’s own challenges and it is those challenges that sharpen us and help us grow.

As the class of 2021, you were able to live while history was being made from the riots in the Capital and then President Trump’s second impeachment to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning the Super Bowl (and Tom Brady getting his 7th Lombardi Trophy!), from super-stars Kardashian and West separating to Beyonce being celebrated the most awarded woman in Grammy history – you saw it all.  The good, the bad, and the ugly as the COVID virus claimed over 1-million lives.  However, through it all, you were resilient, we see you and your strength!

You have graduated! It is time to not just watch history being made but time to go out and make history.

    We celebrate you!

The administration of Richmond Alternative Schools, ASPIRE Academy, Spartan Academy, and ISAEP

    Graduation

    A celebration …

A time for looking back on lessons learned, adventures shared,

bright moments filled with special meaning.

    A farewell…

A time for saying goodbye to old friends, to good times you’ve known…

a time for packing away memories, treasures for tomorrow

    A beginning…

A time for looking forward, a time to set new goals, to dream new dreams,

to try your wings and see what lies beyond.

  • RPS Direct Update - June 21, 2021

Dear #RPSStrong Family, My apologies for coming to you later than usual tonight – we just wrapped up John Marshall's graduation ceremony at The Diamond! That was our third one of the day: this morning was Huguenot HS and this afternoon was Open HS. All three were all absolutely fantastic (see below for some pix of our valedictorians). Big shout out to Principal Gilstrap, Principal Carleton, Principal Murray, and our Chief Schools Officer, Harry Hughes, for planning and executing beautiful ceremonies! And, of course, congratulations to our amazing, pandemic-defying graduates.
