To serve Richmond City Schools' parents and students effectively and efficiently by making placement decisions that consider the best course of action for students academically, emotionally, and socially.
We would like to see each of our approximately 24,000 students develop a love and appreciation for life long learning and become adult citizens who contribute to the betterment of our city, state, country and the world. Our department hopes to contribute to this process by placing students in an academic environment that best addresses their individual needs.
In Richmond Public Schools, the office of Pupil Placement Services encompasses four main areas of responsibility:
- The Open Enrollment process for all comprehensive schools K-12
- Re-enrollment of students from city and state incarceration facilities
- Pupil Placement
- Homebound/Homebased Instruction
- Our mission is to support students, parents, schools and the Richmond community in each of these areas efficiently and effectively.
