    “We are incredibly grateful to Capital One and Heart of America for their continued partnership,” said RPS Superintendent Jason Kamras. “This is a great example of how our community partners are working with us to advance our strategic plan, Dreams4RPS, as the new Tech Corner not only brings modern systems to our students at Blackwell Elementary School, but it also brings additional tools to engage them in exciting and rigorous teaching and learning."

    "We are excited to celebrate our seniors across the district as they prepare to move onto the next phases of their lives,” said Tracy Brower, RVA Future Program Manager. “We support all of their decisions as they decide to go to college, to the military, to a trade school or straight into the workforce."

    A Message From the Principal

    On behalf of the staff at Franklin Military Academy, I am happy to welcome you to the 2018-2019 school year! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our cadets can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that to be successful in school; our cadets need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a significant difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our cadets’ success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your cadet's learning by ensuring that he/she:
    ❖ Is in compliance at all times in wearing school uniform
    ❖ Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
    ❖ Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
    ❖ Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
    ❖ Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
    ❖ Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
    ❖ Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to college
    ❖ Shares concerns with Col. Hudson or Lt. Col. Smith so situations will never escalate
    Please consider joining our school volunteer program as our cadets can greatly benefit from your involvement and contributions to the school’s program and its operations. We seek volunteers to help us with the following activities:
    ❖ Teacher-led instructional support, usually in the classroom
    ❖ Reading and assisting in math classes with cadets who need extra help
    ❖ School-wide events
    ❖ Student recognition events
    ❖ Outreach and recruitment of parent and community volunteers

    Please share concerns immediately and I am excited about school year 2018-2019.
