Bellevue Elementary School

The Castle on The Hill

Principal's Message

  • Principal

    The Bellevue Elementary School community has made great strides during this virtual school year. This has been an opportunity to utilize technology and lead our students and staff with tools for 21st century learning. At Bellevue, we are committed to making each day memorable and meaningful, and we believe when staff, parents and our school community work together, all of our Bellevue Dragons will benefit.

    At Bellevue Elementary School we recognize and promote the uniqueness of each individual child. Since each of our students has different strengths and needs, we promote a challenging atmosphere for learning through an integrated curriculum. Bellevue Elementary School is committed to excellence in educating and preparing students for their future contributions to society.  One way our vision is communicated to students is through the internalization of our school affirmation:

    I am Mindfully Me.

    Being Mindfully Me means…

    No one else can be who I can be.

    I matter; I’m unique;

    I am kind whenever I speak.

    I am helpful and it shows

    I practice self-control

    I stay focused, can’t you see

    I am delightfully, Mindfully Me!

    Bellevue is a community school and we practice the traits of “Caring, Respect, Responsibility, Trust and Family.” Help us to make the rest of this school year a successful one! If I can assist you in any way, if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to say hi, please feel free to contact me at vhines@rvaschools.net or 804-780-4417.

    Yours in service,

    Principal V. Tanaia Hines

  • RPS Direct Update (PM) - April 15, 2021

    Dear #RPSStrong Family, In honor of National Library Month, tonight I'm spotlighting the hottest ride in town – the RPS Lit Limo! Check out the schedule below and mark your calendars for a visit. Put the Chromebooks down, stretch your legs, and pick up an actual, physical book to take home. And if you'd like to donate books to the Lit Limo, please reach out to our amazing head of library services, Judy Deichman, at jdeichman@rvaschools.net. And just remember: Dinosaurs didn't read; now they're extinct. With great appreciation, Jason
