Employee Transfer Fair
This year the transfer fair will be virtual and all principals and hiring managers will conduct interviews via video conferencing options (i.e. Zoom, WebEx, Google Hangout, Skype). Therefore, it will be required that you have access to a computer with a camera or a smart device (cell phone or tablet). Please see the voluntary employee transfer process below for elementary school positions (teachers, instructional assistants, custodians, office staff, etc.) for the 2020-21 school year. Note: The transfer fair for secondary school positions will occur shortly – more information will be shared soon.
If you are interested in participating in the transfer fair (you don’t have to have expressed interest previously – all can participate), you will need to complete the Transfer Request Form which includes a list of all elementary vacancies. Please select no more than three (3) vacancies for which you want to be considered and only express interest in vacancies for which you are qualified and/or properly endorsed. The deadline for submitting the Transfer Request Form is 5pm, Monday, May 4th. Unfortunately late submissions cannot be accepted.
Virtual interviews will be conducted between May 4th and May 8th. The Talent Acquisition team will schedule all interviews and notify you of your interview time(s) based on your indicated preferences and principal/hiring manager availability. All interviews will be confirmed by members of the Talent Acquisition team via email by close of business Tuesday, May 5th - please do not call principals directly to schedule interviews. Please remember that although vacancies are currently available, transfers and placements are contingent upon final staffing needs for the 2020-21 school year, budget decisions, and the leveling process.
Finally, In order to assist us with planning for the 2020-21 school year, we ask that all RPS staff not planning to return next school year to submit their resignation letter to the Talent Office (TalentOffice@rvaschools.net) by Friday, May 15th. The resignation would be effective June 30th and you will continue to be paid through then.
