  • Title I

    The Title I Program in Richmond Public Schools is a federally funded program for disadvantaged students that:

    • Focuses on proficiency in English and mathematics
    • Creates additional school experiences to ensure mastery of standards
    • Coordinates with and supports educational programs
    • Provides instruction by highly qualified staff
    • Offers professional development opportunities to increase home-school-student-community partnership.
    • Requires higher accountability based on state standards
    • Requires annual planning for all schools
    • Requires additional planning for schools that are in school improvement
    • Requires schools to use a portion of funds to improve family participation/parental involvement
