School Partnerships

The YMCA of Greater Richmond recognizes and celebrates the growing diversity of our community. At the YMCA, everyone belongs. For the second school year, our students became members of the YMCA, and attend twice a week during their Community Recreation class with Mrs. Randolph.

Some students walk the tread mill or take a Zumba class, while others are content with walking the track.  Attending the YMCA is a great way for students to be active by exploring different ways to do so within a gym setting, as well as practicing their social skills learned in the classroom.

    Hospital Hospitality House

Hospital Hospitality House provides a full range of conveniences designed to reduce day-to-day stresses so that patients may focus on recovery and families can concentrate on helping their loved one.  The Richmond Career Education & Employment Academy has teamed up with Hospital Hospitality House to provide lunches and snacks to its 100+ residents.  Students will be responsible for shopping, preparing meals, dropping off/cleaning up after the meal and preparing snacks that can be taken with residents on the go.  This commitment will contribute to fulfilling our student’s service learning hours, as well as contributing to their core classes such as Money Management and Community Recreation.  The Academy is honored to be able to assist Hospital Hospitality House in their mission, and appreciate them allowing us to do so.
