Mrs. Tierra Jenkins

Hello Friendly Woodville Family!

It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the School Counselor at Woodville Elementary School. I graduated from Virginia State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and from Liberty University with a Masters of Education in School Counseling. I am very excited to work with the students, parents, and school personnel as we collaborate to ensure academic success for all students. I believe that each student should be held to high expectations and I will work to promote equity so that those expectations are met. Although academic achievement is the foremost goal for students, it is also important that we address any issues that may become barriers to learning and safety.

As your School Counselor, it is my responsibility to meet the academic, personal/social and career/college readiness needs of the students at this school. Those needs will be met through individual counseling, small group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, school-wide programs, and by collaborating with teachers and administrators. I believe that parents are the experts, therefore parental involvement is an important aspect of my school counseling program.

In my spare time I enjoy traveling, coaching the Woodville Cheer Bears, and spending time with my family.  My favorite color is pink and my favorite restaurant is Chipotle! I am married and a proud mommy to a maltipoo named Madison.  Most of all, I love working with students, parents and teachers.  I look forward to receiving your support in order to make your child’s school year a rewarding experience. Always be reminded that I am your child’s advocate, so if you have any concerns or questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I am thrilled to be a part of the Woodville family and excited for the 2017-2018 school year!

Sincerely,

Tierra Jenkins
