Ms. Shaneka Oliver

Ms. Oliver was raised in Highland Springs, VA, and is a graduate of Highland Springs High School. She attended the University of Virginia where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in History. She began her journey as an educator in 2005 as a history teacher at John Marshall High School. During her tenure at John Marshall, Ms. Oliver was afforded many opportunities to lead and serve in various capacities both inside and outside of the classroom. She has experience serving as the Social Studies Department Chair, Clinical Resident Coach with the Richmond Teacher Residency Program, New Beginnings school-based dropout prevention program coordinator, and as a division curriculum writer. Ms. Oliver obtained her Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to becoming a Falcon, she served as an Assistant Principal at Richmond Alternative School. Ms. Oliver is extremely excited to embark on her 5th year as an Assistant Principal at Huguenot High School, where she will prioritize building meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families. She is dedicated to working collaboratively with the school community to meet the needs of our diverse learners to ensure that they are equipped with the tools necessary for postsecondary success.
