Early Dismissal and Late Arrival

  • If your child has to leave school early due to a doctors/dentist appointment, please send a note to your child's teacher so that your child will be prepared to leave when you arrive to pick him/her up. When you arrive at school, please sign your child out in the office. Our office staff will call for your child to meet you in the office once you arrive.  Please keep in mind that leaving early is an occasional occurrence. If your child is continually being picked up early, you will be asked to meet with the School Attendance Support Team to develop a solution to this problem. It is possible that your child will need to return to his/her zoned school if you are attending Fox through Open Enrollment.

The first bell rings at 8:55 am. At that time, students may report to class. STUDENTS MUST ARRIVE TO CLASS (not the front door of the building) BEFORE THE SECOND BELL RINGS AT 9:05 am. Students who do not arrive TO CLASS by 9:05 am ARE MARKED TARDY! Please make sure that your child reports to class on time daily so that he or she does not miss the most important time of the day. Late arrivals also cause other students' learning to be disrupted. If your child arrives after the tardy bell has rung, he or she MUST sign in on the Tardy Book in the office. Between one and four incidents of tardiness, each year is considered "to be expected". Tardies are considered "excused" if they are for a doctor's appointment, court appearance, religious reason, or for reasons associated with a death in the family. Please bring in a note to excuse your tardies. If your child has 5 unexcused tardies, it will equal an UNEXCUSED ABSENCE.  The parent will have to meet with the School Attendance Support Team when a child has 5 unexcused absences (or 25 unexcused tardies). It is possible that your child will need to return to his/her zoned school if you are attending Fox through Open Enrollment.
