Mrs. Angela Wright
John B. Cary Elementary welcomed Angela Wright as assistant principal in August of 2017. Ms. Wright joined Cary Elementary with twelve years of school administration experience, having served at Caroline Middle School and Caroline High School. Before becoming an administrator, Ms. Wright spent twelve years as an elementary and middle school teacher, specifically in the areas of English/Language Arts.
In addition to her leadership and instructional experience, Ms. Wright also has secured many community based partnerships, named a Paul Harris Fellow with the Caroline Rotarians, member of the Caroline YMCA Board, and has served on various church-based organizations. Ms. Wright earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree with a focus in Human Development at Mary Washington College, certifying in PreK-6 Education. She earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration at the University of Mary Washington College.
Outside of her school time, Ms. Wright is busy going to her son’s college football games where he plays as defensive tackle for West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia. He just earned 1st Team, All Conference in the Mountain East Conference District for the 2017 season! She also enjoys spending time with her grandson, Caleb Joshua, who also is active in extra-curricular activities. Mrs. Wright has a strong belief that “All children can learn through application and experience! A positive mindset can be a powerful tool as we model high expectations for our youth of today!”
