Superintendent's Advisory Councils
We are excited to launch the 2019-2020 Superintendent Advisory Councils. Principal assistance is needed in selecting the next Student Advisory Council who will serve as a bridge between the administration and the student body. Additionally, we are asking that all Principals share the applications for the Teacher Advisory Council and Parent Advisory Council with their school community. Recommendations for these councils are due June 28th and notifications of acceptance will be sent by August 5th. Superintendent's Student Advisory Council
The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council brings together Richmond Public Schools (RPS) high school students to help shape policy and ensure that student voice is a critical part of decision making and advocacy efforts. Assistance is needed in selecting the next Student Advisory Council who will serve as a bridge between the administration and the student body.
- High school principals, please provide the names, contact information, and brief description of three student recommendations (rising 10th-12th grade) from your school that you recommend for Student Advisory Council as well as any current SAC members who will be at your school next year.
- Middle school principals, please provide the name, contact information, and brief description of at least one rising 9th grade student that you recommend for Student Advisory Council.
Recommendations can be submitted online through the Student Advisory Council Application. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Shadae Harris at email@example.com. Recommendations are due June 28th.
Superintendent's Parent Advisory Council
The Richmond Public Schools Parent Advisory Council brings together 25 parents from diverse backgrounds with the administration to engage in true partners in the educational process. The Parent Advisory Council is divided into three focus groups: Go Far Together, Advocacy, and Parent Resources & Engagement. We invite all current RPS parents to apply and serve as a member of the Parent Advisory Council as we work to build a strong community-parent-school partnership. All current RPS parents/guardians are invited to apply through the online registration forms English Parent Advisory Council Application , Spanish Parent Advisory Council Application. Applications are due June 28th and notifications of acceptance will be sent by August 5th.
Superintendent's Teacher Advisory Council
The Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Council brings together 25 teachers to help shape policy and ensure rigorous and exciting teaching and learning for all our students. All interested teachers can apply online through the Teacher Advisory Council Application. Applications are due June 28th and notifications of acceptance will be sent by August 5th.
Superintendent's Principal Advisory Council
The Superintendent’s Principal Advisory Council allows principals the opportunity to contribute to shaping policy and ensuring RPS is positioned to meet the goals of Dreams4RPS. The 2019-2020 Principal Advisory meetings will be open to all principals – no application is needed.
