Mr. Kevin Olds
Kevin Olds has a long history of serving youth and families in multiple capacities. After graduating from the University of Tennessee at Martin, he spent six years in youth mental health and juvenile corrections. His love for working with at-risk youth led him to accept a position in Henrico County, Virginia as an Intervention Coordinator in alternative education. As a high school teacher and administrator in alternative education, Kevin inspired youth to look beyond their current situations by hanging on to hope and seeking opportunities beyond their immediate resources. After the experience of working with at-risk youth, Kevin pursued a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Kevin has over 17 years of experience in public education. seven of which he served as a building administrator in capacities as dean, assistant principal, athletic director, and middle school principal. In his current role as an assistant principal at Huguenot High School, he combines his experience as a lifelong learner, teacher, coach, mentor, counselor, and college athlete to inspire students to believe in themselves despite their current circumstances and to embrace opportunities to better themselves.
Kevin’s background demonstrates there is no cookie cutter approach to being a positive influence in the lives of youth. In working with teachers, parents and students, he focuses on putting children FIRST as he recognizes the impact that sports, coaches and teachers had on his life.
