    We will also be offering a one week session, August 9-13, for students who need a final “sprint” to complete RPS@Home modules. This August sprint is a final opportunity to earn credit from Spring 2020 for students who did not pass a course and did not complete modules.   

    Students can take up to two courses in Edgenuity, with online or in person support, during the four weeks of summer school.  Students are HIGHLY encouraged to attend in person to receive support. Students needing SOL remediation can also sign up for summer school and choose to attend the SOL Academy during the four week session. Students can attend in-person support sessions with licensed teachers from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at Richmond Technical Center.  Students also have the option each Thursday to take part in enrichment opportunities during the last 45 minutes of the day.  *Transportation will be provided from each comprehensive high school.  Breakfast and lunch will be offered. 


    RPS will offer 5 paths in Summer 2021: 

    Path 1: SENIORS ONLY: Initial Credit/Credit Recovery - Seniors who need additional courses to graduate this summer may take courses in Edgenuity for initial credit or credit recovery. NO MORE THAN 2 COURSES can be taken.  Students are highly encouraged to attend in person for teacher support.

    Path 2: 9th -11th GRADERS (also 8th graders in HS credit bearing courses): Credit Recovery (did not pass course) and Initial Credit courses (overage/under credited students only, must have counselor recommendation) in Edgenuity. NO MORE THAN 2 COURSES can be taken. Students are highly encouraged to attend in person for teacher support.

    Path 3: Initial Credit: Students who wish to take Online PE 9, Online PE 10, or Driver’s Ed Theory (no behind the wheel) may do so for initial credit (free for RPS students). Also available is Behind the Wheel ($200).  After you register, you will be contacted via the email address or phone number provided with information on how to get started (or contact sramsey@rvaschools.net).Students are highly encouraged to attend in person for teacher support.

    Path 4: SOL Academy:  Students who need remediation and testing (or retesting) for an End of Course SOL test may sign up for summer remediation through Edgenuity.  Testing schedule will be shared soon.  Students are highly encouraged to attend in person for teacher support. 

    Path 5: RPS@Home modules final “Sprint,” August 9-13.  Students are highly encouraged to attend in person for teacher support to complete Spring 2020 modules.  August 9-13 - 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Students MUST sign up with the link for summer school to have modules re-enabled.  Modules will be re-enabled June 28 for students to work at home.  Students are encouraged to come during the August “sprint” week for in person support.


    During summer 2021, core content courses will have licensed teachers interacting in person at Richmond Technical Center, or online, to support students through goal setting, progress monitoring, and virtual office hours.


    *Students should login each day to work on class(es). Students are highly encouraged to come in person, but may work remotely with teacher support.  Summer classes for seniors need to be completed by Thursday, July 21, 2021.  Summer graduation for seniors completing all requirements will be Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at Huguenot High school.  Modules “sprint” in August is for one week only.
