Alternative Education

Alternative Education programs within Richmond Public Schools provide non-traditional learning opportunities for students in specific situations, focusing on self-advocacy, academic achievement and post-high school education and employment.

The Why Behind Alternative Education

The Alternative Education programs team works collaboratively with stakeholders to assist students in identifying pathways for academic achievement. Our efforts are intentional and specific, based on individual student needs and an ever-changing educational landscape. All program planning is to reduce the dropout rate while increasing the graduation rate.
