Summer School Important Information
RPS Summer School for students in grades PK - 8 and high school SOL Remediation begins on Monday, June 9. Classes are Monday - Thursday. Summer school will be closed for holidays on June 19 and July 3.
Summer School Frequently Asked Questions

| How early can I drop off my student(s)? | Students should be dropped off no more than 10 minutes before the beginning of the day. |
| Will there be aftercare for summer school? | There is no summer school aftercare. All students must ride the bus or be picked up at the end of the day. |
| What supplies will student need for summer school? | RPS will provide materials and supplies for all summer school students. |
| Will students need to bring a clear backpack to summer school? | A backpack is not required for summer school, however, if students choose to bring backpacks, RPS's clear backpack policy is still in place during summer school. |
| Can my student use their cell phone during summer school? | Students still need to adhere to RPS's Cell Phone Policy during summer school. |
| Will students need to bring lunch? | Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all summer school students. Students may bring their own lunch and a refillable water bottle. |
| Who do I call if I have questions about summer school bus transportation? | Please call the transportation hotline at 804-674-1234. |
| Will I receive a class schedule? | Students will receive their summer class assignments/schedules on the first day of summer school. |
