School Support and Improvement

The School Support and Improvement Team serves as the liaison between schools and the Office of School Quality to ensure that schools are engaged in continuous school improvement processes.

The Office of School Improvement is dedicated to driving systemic excellence by supporting schools in creating equitable, high-quality learning environments. The team works in collaboration with RPS schools, instructional teams and the Virginia Department of Education to implement evidence-based strategies, foster professional growth, and ensure all students have access to the resources and opportunities needed to succeed. Through a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration we empower schools to close achievement gaps, reach the highest levels of success, and inspire lifelong learning for every student.

The Office of School Improvement supports schools through the development, implementation and monitoring of:

• School Improvement Grants
• CSSP (Virginia Continuous School Support Plans)
• Expenditure of Federal Grant funds (SIG Funds, Title I Funds)

In addition, the team focuses on

• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement by supporting educators, students, and school communities in achieving excellence.
• Enhancing academic achievement, equity and inclusion, and promoting the holistic well-being of every student.
• Leveraging data-driven decision-making, professional development, and collaborative partnerships to create innovative, high-quality learning environments that prepare students for lifelong success
