RPS Athletics
The Richmond Public Schools is committed to excellence in athletics as part of a larger commitment to excellence in education. We believe that physical activity is a valuable component of successful human growth and development. Interscholastic athletics promotes character traits of high value to personal development and success later in life.
Our mission is to offer all our student-athletes the opportunity to take their talents to the highest possible level performance by teaching them the benefits of discipline, teamwork, goal setting, and character development. Our goal is to ensure that each student-athlete gains an appreciation of living a healthy lifestyle and a desire for lifelong learning.
About RPS Athletics
Richmond City Schools offers interscholastic competition in middle school, as well as, high school level.
Athletes are given excellent opportunities to compete and to improve skill levels with quality coaching and supervision.
Emphasis is placed on the importance of developing student/athlete academic performance and sportsmanship behaviors.
Some of the sports offered through Athletics include football, cross country, volleyball, basketball, track and field, softball, baseball, wrestling, tennis, golf, soccer, forensics and cheerleading. Many of these sports are offered for boys and girls and many are offered at the junior varsity and varsity levels.

We encourage all athletes to read these regularly no matter how long you've been playing.
