Richmond Public Schools has an agreement with Reynolds Community College to offer college-level courses to qualifying high school students. Courses are offered on Reynold's campuses and at the Richmond Technical Center. Students may participate through the Richmond Technical Center, the Early College Academy or through Concurrent Enrollment.
Dual Enrollment at RTC
The Richmond Technical Center coordinates dual enrollment courses through Reynolds Community College. Students receive both high school and college credits for each designated dual enrollment course. The courses vary each school year and Richmond Public Schools pays the tuition for all courses. Students register for dual enrollment courses at the beginning of each school year and attend dual enrollment classes at the Richmond Technical Center during their regularly scheduled times.
Early College Academy (ECA)
Students from all Richmond high schools apply to the Early College Academy in the 10th grade through their school counseling office. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a desire to earn an Associate's Degree while in high school. Successful students receive an initial acceptance to the ECA dependent upon additional testing required by the Virginia Community College System.

High school juniors and seniors may be permitted to enroll in college level courses prior to graduating from high school.The Concurrent Enrollment Form must be signed by the parent or legal guardian and the principal or designee for each requested semester or term. School counselors are available to support the application and registration process. Individual families are responsible for all tuition, books, and fees associated with concurrent enrollment courses.
