Newcomer Programs
RPS Newcomer Programs address the particular cultural, social-emotional, and linguistic needs of our newly arrived multilingual learners. These programs allow students to acquire English language and literacy at an accelerated rate, learn academic language within core contexts, and graduate with an Advanced Diploma. Our Newcomer Programs staff embody what it means to #teachwithlove, #servewithlove, and #leadwithlove.
Who is a newcomer?In RPS, newcomers are multilingual learners who have been in U.S. schools for 12 months or fewer and have a WIDA English language proficiency level of 1.0 to 1.9. Programs available:
