Amelia Street School

We believe in giving every student a VOICE!

Principal's Message

  • Principal Greetings and welcome to Amelia Street/13 Acres and REAL School’s homepage, the home of the Eagles! I am thrilled that you have decided to view our school’s website in order to learn more about the wonderful students, staff, and programs we have to offer. Our three therapeutic schools have a reputation of excellence and we will continue to strive to become the best.  We are about to embark upon a new school name for next year with great enthusiasm and anticipation of new opportunities that will enhance our instructional program and school community as a whole.

We are committed to providing innovative lessons to our students, incorporating technology in order to meet the needs of the 21st century learner along with behavioral strategies that will help them in their future.

Our school community is dedicated to providing our students with a well-rounded educational experience.  While the core curriculum is provided for all students, we believe that it is critical to provide leadership opportunities, character education and exposure to the technologies in order to prepare students to compete with their global counterparts.

We encourage you to visit our beautiful school and see that we are a school committed to children, with a positive and purposeful focus. You will find that this is a vibrant and engaging community of teachers and learners. To our parents, we believe that your involvement is an essential component to the academic and behavioral success of your child.   I encourage you to visit our website often, meet your child’s teacher and to get engaged in all that our schools have to offer.  Your participation in our school is needed and greatly appreciated!

I look forward to partnering with you on behalf of our future leaders as we model success “Do what I Do”…No Excuses!

    Enthusiastically,

    Dr. Mark Phillips, Principal

  • RPS Direct Update - September 24, 2021

Dear #RPSStrong Family, Happy Fall Friday! Tonight's updates: Richmond Virtual Academy (RVA) Waitlist Update – Please note the following: By next Friday, October 1, we will notify all preschool-5th grade families of their status – whether offered a seat or not – via the email address they used to register their student/s on the waitlist. In the interest of fairness, we are using a randomized selection process to identify students for the limited number of available seats. As I shared last week, there are unfortunately no more virtual seats for middle and high school students. Any family who is already enrolled in virtual can switch to in-person at any time by completing the Switch Pathways Form (Formulario de Cambio de Decisión).
