Dr. Robert Wayne Parsons
Dr. Robert Wayne Parsons has been privileged to have spent 25 wonderful years as an educator working with students in elementary, middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. The first 11 years were as a math teacher with Chesapeake Public Schools. The last 14 years have been as an administrator at the middle school and high school levels in the southeastern part of Hampton Roads and in the Peninsula area, while continuing to teach mathematics at the collegiate level. He has served as an assistant principal, building principal, and supervisor overseeing core education, exceptional education, arts education, career and technical education, alternative education, and virtual education. The commonality in the more than two decades of experience has been the collaboration with others to provide the best possible educational experiences for students. As an educational consultant, he has provided professional development for aspiring, new, and veteran educators at colleges, universities, and school districts across the country. He holds undergraduate degrees from Tidewater Community College and Old Dominion University, as well as two graduate degrees from Old Dominion University. He obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Phoenix in 2009.
Dr. Parsons loves spending time with family and friends. He also loves mentoring youth, watching football and basketball, traveling, cooking, and sharing a good laugh whenever he can. In addition to his love for education and leadership, he is very passionate about the performing arts, having years of experience in acting, singing, vocal coaching, choreography, and producing, directing, and hosting entertainment programs.
