Mr. Cleveland Walton III

Mr. Cleveland Walton, III was appointed principal of J. B. Fisher Elementary School and has served in that capacity since July 2015. Mr. Walton is a graduate of the public school system in New York City. Mr. Walton earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from The King’s College in New York, New York and he earned his Master of Science degree in Special Education and in Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Mr. Walton is pursuing a doctoral degree from Virginia Commonwealth University with anticipated completion in May of 2021. He holds a Postgraduate Professional Teaching License with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision Pre-K through 12th grade.
 
Mr. Walton has served 16 years in public education. He was a special education and 1st grade instructor for Hampton City Schools for 7 years. Mr. Walton served as an elementary school assistant principal with Hampton City Schools for 4½ years. He has been married to his best friend, Sobi Walton, for the past 24 years. Cleve and Sobi make their home in Hampton, Virginia. He is the very proud father of three adult children – two wonderful sons and one incredible daughter, who is a classroom teacher with RPS."
