Dr. Stacy G. Gaines
I am a proud educator with over 20 years of experience. I attended schools in Brooklyn, New York and Miami, Florida. Upon high school graduation, I completed undergraduate and graduate studies from the University of South Florida, Georgia State University, the University of Georgia, and High Point University. I have taught at the middle school, high school and college levels and served previously as an assistant principal and principal prior to coming to Richmond Public Schools.
My goal this year is to collaborate with our families and community to ensure we shape and prepare our students to function with integrity in a global society. Moreover, I believe education should contribute to the holistic development of students, shape intellectual growth, and make possible realities that may be unrealized today. I believe that teaching occurs only in conjunction with learning and that the two produce endless opportunities for students, who have the right to achieve, transgress beyond boundaries, and thirst to transform their tomorrows.
I am married to Michael Gaines, and together we share a wonderful son and daughter. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, singing, and developing my green thumb.
