Tamara Mines has spent her career working to ensure a safe and positive educational environment for all students. Most recently Tamara served as a SOL remediation interventionist with Henrico County Public Schools. Previously she was a principal in Richmond Public Schools (RPS) where she worked to improve student learning outcomes and to create a culture of excellence. Prior to joining RPS, Tamara held various instructional leadership roles including assistant principal and district-level Coordinator of Student Conduct. She began her career as a classroom history and social sciences teacher. She earned her Bachelor’s in Government from the University of Virginia and holds a Master’s of Teaching and Administration and Supervision Licensure from Virginia Commonwealth University.
