About the Media Center
The Henderson Middle School Media Center is an engaging learning environment that connects students and staff to treasures in diverse formats that improve learning 4-life. Resources include more than 8,500 books, 26+ databases, 12+ magazines and numerous online tools to support teaching and learning. Students have access to 18 computers.
Book Fairs, Reading Challenges, Poetry Contests, and the Bi-Monthly Book Discussion Club are all sponsored by the media center. Moreover, our club members are blogging and interacting with others about books read. Orientation classes are provided when needed.
The mission of the media center is to provide a wealth of resources, information, and technology to develop critical thinking skills, embrace innovative tools and research skills to stay engaged and motivated to learn 4-life.
Helping Students Gain New Learning and Useful Information! The media specialist, teachers and learners meet 180 days a year working together to build the bridge to offering a fresh look at information technology and literacy.
Policy & Procedures
- Two books may be checked out for two weeks
- One magazine (back issues only) may be checked out for one day
- Books may be renewed if and only if there are no holds
- Students with overdue books are prohibited from checking out additional resources
