School Partnerships

  •  Communities in Schools

Communities In Schools of Richmond is connected to a national network of over 200 affiliates to form the nation’s largest and most effective organization dedicated to keeping kids in school. By bringing community resources inside public schools, where they are accessible, coordinated and accountable, CIS Founder Bill Milliken changed the picture for millions of kids across the country.

Our unique model positions site coordinators inside schools to assess students’ needs and provide resources to help them succeed in the classroom and in life. These resources include promoting attendance, providing basic needs like food, clothing and school supplies, providing mentors, reading outreach programs, and providing enrichment and life skills building activities.

We partner with local businesses, social service agencies, health care providers and volunteers. Whether it’s food, school supplies, health care, counseling, academic assistance or a positive role model, Communities In Schools of Richmond is there to help.

Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

    Chick-Fil-A

Blake Kell, the new owner of Chick-Fil-A at Willow Lawn supports our school by providing one hundred Chick-fil-A sandwiches each month for our Parent Engagement Nights.  Mr. Kell also donates food for Teacher Appreciation days.

    First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church joins us daily in full-force volunteering with Albert Hill's afternoon feeding program.  In addition, they provide support for our students through tutoring, sponsoring clubs during the Enrichment Hour, and serving as lunch buddies.

    Capital One

In 2017, Capital One donated a classroom makeover. The former Choir room has a fresh coat of paint and is now a mini-lab with new computer tables, fun rolling white boards and 25 Chrome Books for our students.  In addition, they have sponsored classes in Coding where they trained 20 students.

    Altria

Altria will be working along side the PTA to beautify our school garden. Additionally, they are providing Thanksgiving gifts for our teachers, and donating items to the school store.  They are also making plans to donating picnic tables to the back of the school.
