Where will the graduations take place?
The Altria Theater, 6 North Laurel Street
What will the school schedule for underclassmen be on each school’s graduation day?
Richmond Community students will attend graduation. Huguenot High School, John Marshall High School and George Wythe High School will have a 2-hour early release. Franklin Military Academy and Open High School will have an asynchronous day. All other schools in the district operate on a regular schedule.
Where do families/guests/students park for graduation?
Paid parking is available on the street in designated areas and in the VCU parking deck directly across from the Altria Theater. The cost to park in the parking deck is $10.
How many tickets will each graduate receive?
Each graduate will receive 10 tickets.
When should graduates arrive and where should they go?
Graduates should arrive one hour before graduation. Graduates are to enter the Altria at the Main Street door near Cherry Street. Only graduates can enter here; their cap and gown will be used as identification
Are there any prohibited items families should avoid bringing to graduation?
Guests cannot bring food or drinks, drugs, balloons, signs, noisemakers or large purses. There is also no smoking or vaping at the venue.
Can seniors decorate their caps or wear stoles?
Yes, students may decorate their caps and wear stoles. Guidelines provided by schools have been shared with seniors. All decorations must be approved by the school principal or designee.
