- Ginter Park Elementary School
Welcome Back to School!
As the new principal of Ginter Park Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome all new and returning students, parents, and community members to the 2019-2020 school year. We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, connected, and a part of our school family. Our theme for the 2019-2020 school year is “G.A.M.E. On.” The Ginter Park Faculty and Staff will lead and teach with love by focusing on the following:
Grit – Working hard toward goals despite setbacks or failures.
Achievement – Providing high quality, grade appropriate instruction to promote student growth
Model Excellence – Modeling safety, respect, and responsibility and holding everyone accountable.
Engaged – Providing multiple opportunities for students, staff, parents, and the community to remain involved in our instructional program, activities, and events.
We are committed to providing the best education for your child. In doing so, our instructional focus on Literacy and Mathematics, will also be accompanied by integrating opportunities to develop 21 st century skills of critical thinking, collaboration, communication, citizenship, and creativity. As we “Cultivate leaners into leaders,” We will strive daily to keep high quality teaching and learning the focus of all that we do, building a firm foundation of skills that will prepare our students to transition from their elementary and secondary years to post-secondary education, meaningful careers and being productive citizens.
Each year we strive to strengthen our home school partnership, therefore, I encourage all of you to set a goal to become more engaged in our school community, by attending a Coffee Chat, volunteering in a classroom, mentoring a child, or joining our beautification team. In addition, please help support your child, by checking their weekly folders, communicating with their teacher, reading with or to your child nightly, and stressing the importance of attending school daily. The number one factor in student success continues to be good attendance. Please make sure your child is rested and on time for school every day. We cannot do the work without you! To maintain open communication between home and school, we encourage parents to contact us for information or to share what we can do to serve the students and community. When the school and community work together, it’s a Win - Win for students.
Again, welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! Please check our school website for frequent updates and calendar events. We look forward to a great year of teaching and learning.
Leading with Love and Compassion,
L. Michelle Jones, Principal
