Return to Headlines

Dear Lion’s Den Parents and Students,

Welcome to the start of wonderful new school year!  For those of you returning, we missed you, and for our new family members, we are happy to have you here.  We are pleased to share that our students made positive gains in their state SOL exams in Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.  We are excited about their growth and momentum towards showing proficiency in mastering grade level expectations.

We are eager to share this year’s theme: “Holton has D.R.E.A.M.S.” (Determined, Resilient, Encouraged, & Authentically Motived Students and Staff)!  We are proud of our young scholars and their teachers, and want to capture the first of many successful milestones.

As you may know, Linwood Holton Elementary is special for a number of reason, but one of the reasons is YOU.  Our goal is to create an environment that is not only student centered, but focused on community and family engagement.  In continuing with the spirit of inclusivity, we developed this handbook to provide you general information, important dates, and our operational procedures in an effort to help create a safe environment for all.

The safety of your child(ren) is and will continue to be our top priority.  This handbook will outline our rituals and routines, and the only way to improve our systems is to consistently practice.  In order to provide the best possible learning environment for each child, we ask that you comply with the 2019-2020 Linwood Holton Elementary Parent & Student Handbook.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out by phone (804-228-5310) or email ( or  Your concerns are our concerns, and we are more than willing to partner together to find a viable solution.  All staff/faculty members can be reached by e-mail as well, and you will receive a response to your email or phone call within 48 hours.
