Service Learning Clubs

Green Thumbs -- This club will focus on our garden. Planting, weeding, harvesting, and selling the produce are the major tasks. We have several community partners to work with for service days to keep our garden growing beautifully. Even in winter there are tasks for the garden (planning, fundraising, cleaning, building cold frames, etc.)

BFFs – This club is all about being a friend to those who need one. BFFs may partner with new students, younger students, elementary students, or others in the community like our first responders.

Paw Patrol – This club has an interest in animals (not just those with fur and paws). How we care for and protect animals from pets to wildlife is its focus.

Random Acts of Kindness – This club makes a difference in the everyday by practicing random acts of kindness. If it is kind and caring on the learner profile this group is in charge of it. What kind acts will you choose to do?

Heal the World – This club focuses on issues relating to the environment. From plastic bags and recycling, to reducing waste, or repurposing something discarded for a new use, this group can do it!

J. O. Y. (Just Older Youth) – Members of this club care for our senior members. Organizing Wii games at a senior center, adapting yoga to the needs of the elderly, or making holiday decorations for adopted grandparents at a nursing home are just some ideas.

Our Neighbor’s Keeper – This club cares about hunger and homelessness and takes action. Food drives, advocacy and awareness of food needs, and the need for shelter keep this club active. Planning a school wide canned food drive would be a great task for this club.

Protect Your Peace – This club is all about keeping a positive mental outlook and taking care of ourselves as a way to promote good behavior and good health. Self-care, mindfulness, and peaceful conflict resolution are directions for the club.
