RPS Announces 2019 Athletic Hall of Fame Class

Twenty-seven alumni and two teams were inducted into the RPS Athletic Hall of Fame this weekend at the 5th annual RPS Athletic Hall of Fame Reception hosted by the Omni Richmond.

"It is an honor to celebrate the rich legacy of RPS athletics,” said Stefanie Ramsey, RPS Coordinator of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics. “Each of these outstanding athletes represents the best in RPS and in their own lives and communities. We are thrilled to recognize each inductee this evening for their dedication and achievements.”

Founded in 2015, The RPS Athletic Hall of Fame was initiated to recognize graduates, administrators, coaches, staff members and volunteers who have had a significant impact on RPS Athletics and made valuable contributions to their field and/or the community-at-large by exhibiting outstanding leadership, character, and service to community.

Hall of Fame applications are accepted from alumni at participating schools through December 15th of each year. Using district-wide criteria, each school’s selection committee carefully chooses each inductee and announces its newest class at a home basketball game. Following the announcement, each honoree is celebrated at the Hall of Fame Inductee Reception and has a plaque enshrined on their alma mater’s Hall of Fame Wall.
