Shavae' Ward receives the RPS Scholar Athlete of the Year Award from her principals

Shavae' Ward is a senior with a 4.92 GPA, co-Valedictorian for her graduating class, and overall Valedictorian for Richmond Public Schools for 2018.

She lettered in Varsity Girls Tennis for three years, where she was the #2 ranked tennis player and Varsity Girls Volleyball for two years. She is a member of the Metro Richmond Tennis Club where she was a player and Youth Instructor. She was the April Scholar athlete of the month.

She is the Class of 2018 Vice President at Open High School and serves on the following: T-Shirt Committee, Early College Academy, National Technical Honor Society, and Phi Theta Kappa Community College Honor Society. She has also completed past summer internships with Patient First. She will attend Old Dominion University in the fall and she plans to major in nursing.  She just graduated with an associate's degree from J. Sargeant Reynolds in general studies and she earned the "summa cum laude" distinction.
