Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year!

Greetings Richmond Community High School Families,

With a new school year right around the corner, I’m thrilled to welcome everyone in the school community back over the next two weeks. The past month has been both exciting and rewarding!  I’ve truly enjoyed engaging with so many of you and learning about your passions and dreams for our school.  It’s clear that I’ve inherited a hard-working and committed staff, awesome students and dedicated families and community members.  As the interim principal of Richmond Community, I’ll work tirelessly with all stakeholders to provide our students with an educational experience that will shape our students into global citizens ready to embrace opportunities for continuous growth and leadership.

Ronald A. Crutcher, national educational leader and current President for the University of Richmond once said, “We need to commit to listening, even when what we hear throws us off balance.”  These wise words resonate with me and describe the leadership I will exhibit.  I am dedicated to continuing the rich academic legacy of RCHS by actively listening to all and honoring every voice. Please know that I value honest dialogue even when it causes disagreement.   Open communication allows us authentic opportunities to reaffirm our commitment in our vision, values and expectations.

This year is going to be amazing as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build positive relationships while making real-world connections. I look forward to serving the students and the community! Together we will make a significant impact.
