Free Assistance for Lead Based Paint Hazards
Do you have children who either live in or frequently visit your home? If so, it’s important for you to know that Lead paint is dangerous, unhealthy, and can severely harm the brain and nervous system development of children under 6 years old. Lead paint is still found in many of the City’s older Northside Homes.
The Richmond Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Program is a partnership between the City of Richmond’s Department of Housing and Community Development and the non-profit project:HOMES that provides federal funds for free testing and repairs for homes with at-risk children or pregnant women. Homes that children visit for at least 6 hours a week can also qualify.
