Enroll RPS

Enroll RPS is the hub for families seeking to enroll in Richmond Public Schools, as well as participate in our annual school application processes. Families can still submit preschool applications and enrollment forms for Preschool through 12th grade students for the 2023-2024 school year.

For newly enrolling families, if there is another language other than, or in addition to, English spoken in your home, please contact the Welcome Center to determine eligibility for English Learner (EL) services. You can contact the Welcome Center via phone, 804-230-2980 or email, The Welcome Center will also follow up with any enrolled family who may be eligible for EL services.

Richmond Public Schools Preschool offers full-day, high-quality early childhood education to eligible 3 and 4 year old children living in the City of Richmond. Families may apply and are placed in a program based on eligibility requirements. Families may submit applications for SY2023-2024 now!

All kindergarten through 12th grade students who are new to RPS (including kindergarten students who attended RPS Preschool) must enroll online via Enroll RPS. Students who move between RPS school zones during the year may transfer online via Enroll RPS. Families may enroll for SY2023-2024 now!

School Applications

Students may participate in our annual school applications processes (open enrollment, specialty schools and programs, regional governor's schools, and the Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts lottery) for admission to an out-of-zone school.
