Summer Break Free Meals & Resources

RPS summer break for students begins on Friday, June 9, 2023. The first day of school for the 2023-24 school year is Monday, August 21, 2023. RPS200 schools - Cardinal ES and Fairfield Court ES - begin Monday, July 24, 2023.

During summer break, there are a variety of free meal options available for RPS students and families:

  • City of Richmond Parks and Rec meal sites are open for breakfast from 9 - 10 am and lunch from 12 - 1 pm, Monday through Friday, until August 18, 2023.
  • To find a Feed More service site location near you, view their schedule online. Check back often, as this list is frequently updated. You can also access emergency food assistance by contacting the hotline at (804) 521-2500 x 631.
