Change of Information

Name Change

If you have legally changed your name because of marriage, divorce, court order or any other reason, you must notify the Benefits and Compensation Department as soon as possible. You must also officially change it with the Social Security Administration (SSA) to ensure that future wages and tax withholdings are correctly credited to your account.

To officially update your name with Richmond Public Schools, complete the Name Change Form and submit it to the Benefits and Compensation Department by email at verifications@rvaschools.net. A copy of your new Social Security card or a copy of the two page receipt from Social Security Administration must be included with the form.

How Do I Legally Change My Name?

Applications for name change are filed in the Circuit Court. You must file in the Circuit Court of the city/county in which you live. The application and order are available online or at the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office. Contact the clerk’s office of your local circuit court for additional information.

How Do I Change My Name On My Social Security Card?

Address Change

To change your address, complete the Address Change Form and submit it to the Benefits and Compensation Department by email at verifications@rvaschools.net.

Direct Deposit

To change your direct deposit information, complete a new Authorization Agreement for Automatic Deposits Form. Submit the signed form along with a voided check to the Department of Finance. Changes received may take up to a pay cycle to become effective. For additional information, contact the Department of Finance at (804) 780-7095.
