Automotive Parts Clerk

POSITION TITLE:  Automotive Parts Clerk

QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or its equivalency, trade or vocational school course(s); or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Including or supplemented by training in basic automotive maintenance. The Automotive Parts Clerk must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License. ASE certification preferred.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:  Responsible for performing a combination of general clerical tasks in maintaining the parts inventory for the vehicle repair shop. Work involves ordering and distributing auto parts, and maintaining parts inventory. The Automotive Parts Clerk must produce legible documents of parts orders and distributions. d. Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL DEFINITION AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS OF WORK:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employees to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Automotive Parts Clerk must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time. Must exhibit manual exhibit manual dexterity to operate equipment. Be able to see and read printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels; speak in audible tones so that other may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; physical ability to bend, stoop and reach overhead. Must be capable of pushing/pulling 50 pounds; lift/move up to 50 pounds for at least 50 feet.

PAY SCHEDULE:  Unified Pay Schedule, Pay Grade 108

LENGTH OF CONTRACT:  260 Days (12 months)

FLSA:  Non-exempt
