General Description:
The Homebound Placement Coordinator ensures that educational services are provided to students who require academic and related services within the home due to medical, behavioral, and/or mental health needs that have been supported by a medical provider or a student's IEP team.  The Coordinator also facilitates the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems in compliance with the VDOE guidance governing such programs

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

●        Facilitates the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems to ensure that educational services are provided to students who require academic and related services within the home

●        Evaluates incoming homebound/home-based applications

●        Develops and monitors a digital system of receiving and maintaining records

●        Assigns teachers to facilitate appropriate instruction based on student needs

●        Collaborates with RVA teachers, the students’ zoned school of record teams, and community partners when applicable, to ensure the consistent implementation of high quality, comprehensive services

●        Provides data analyses and recommendations to the RVA leadership team

●        Collaborates with other departments, such as school nurses, school psychologists, and school social workers, to provide necessary services to students

●        Participates in meetings such as IEP/504, parent meetings, and other meetings as necessary

●        Ensures accurate record-keeping with student files, to include IEPs, attendance, standardized tests, and academic records with school teams

●        Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

●        Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in educational leadership, Special Education, or related field preferred

●        Postgraduate professional license with endorsement in Administration and Supervision, preschool – 12 preferred

●        Experience with homebound/home-based instruction and coordination preferred

●        Experience leading a team preferred

●        Strong organizational skills, including keen attention to detail and ease at managing competing demands and determining priorities independently

●        Strong computer and technology skills; proficiency in Google Suite

●        Ability to develop new systems and demonstrate flexibility in adjusting approach to meeting program goals and needs

●        Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

●        Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex ideas simply and succinctly

Bilingual/proficiency in Spanish preferred
