Human Resources Specialist - Compensation Reporting and Analysis

POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Specialist – Compensation, Reporting and Analysis

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a high school diploma or its equivalency and at least two years of human resources experience. Knowledge and understanding of human resources policies, practices and procedures. Excellent oral and written communication, customer service, presentation and organizational skills required. Ability to establish harmonious working relationships with others. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to implement effective decision-making skills towards the completion of assigned tasks. Ability to compile data and to prepare routine and special reports. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and effectively manage multiple deadlines. Ability to maintain confidential information. Must have the ability to maintain complex records and to prepare reports from such records. Experience with HRIS, Microsoft Office, internet, intranet, and email applications required.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: Provides support and assistance in the implementation and administration of compensation programs. Responsible for timely and accurate semimonthly payroll processing and proper maintenance of all information in the HRIS. Works collaboratively with the Payroll Department to ensure all employees are paid in accordance with RPS policies and procedures. Responds to questions and provides information related to compensation policies, programs and procedures. Maintains files and records of a confidential nature. Receives, researches and processes all requests for employment verification for current and former RPS employees to include, but not limited to, wage verifications, student loans verifications, and work experience verifications. Acts as a liaison for all requests from outside agencies for employment status of RPS employees. Performs other related duties as assigned.

GENERAL DEFINITION AND PHYSICAL CONDITION OF WORK: Performs skilled clerical work in an office environment. Work requires frequent standing, sitting, walking and light lifting up to 10 pounds. Effective verbal and written communication skills for expressing or exchanging ideas, hearing to perceive information at a normal spoken word level and visual acuity for preparing and analyzing written or computer data.

REPORTS TO: Manager Human Resources

PAY SCHEDULE: Unified Pay Schedule, Pay Grade 115

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 260 Days (12 months)

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
