Facilities and Custodial Services fosters a safe learning environment through proactive maintenance, sustainable practices, and an unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of every RPS community member.
The Facilities and Custodial Services team is responsible for ensuring the safety and cleanliness of all of RPS’ physical infrastructure. Our Custodial team regularly cleans and sanitizes all parts of a school building, reducing the spread of illness and leading to fewer absences for students. From de-icing sidewalks and checking pipes after storms to deep-cleaning classrooms in the summer, our team of custodians create safe spaces for every child to learn.
Custodians work hand-in-hand with our team of Divisionwide facilities experts, including plumbers, HVAC specialists, electricians, and structural technicians to assess and perform long-term repairs on our aging infrastructure. They work to keep schools operating smoothly, especially in emergencies and inclement weather,, and to ensure that all our campuses are clean, modern, and functional for our parents and families.
Long-term, our Facilities and Custodial Services team are working to implement energy-efficient upgrades and maintenance practices to reduce our utility bills and champion environmentally responsible practices. The small but mighty team works tirelessly to ensure our campuses are safe for the next generation of students.
