School Board Candidates
TAKE NOTICE that the School Board of the City of Richmond is seeking candidates for the interim appointment of the 6th District School Board seat to fill the vacancy due the resignation of School Board Member Dr. Shonda Harris-Muhammed to be effective on December 31, 2025. The selected candidate will serve until the voters fill the vacancy and the person so elected has qualified for office.
Eligible persons must (1) be registered voters in the City of Richmond; and (2) reside in the Sixth District. Applicants must submit (either in electronic or hard copy form) a letter of interest, resume to include the home address and telephone number of the candidate, and proof of residency in the Sixth District of the City of Richmond to the Clerk of the School Board, Ms. Patrece S. Richardson, no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026. Candidate submissions received after that time will not be considered. Applications may be made, to the attention of the Clerk of the School Board, at the following:
