Update for 2026
The Language Justice Team switched platforms for video interpretation so previous logins are no longer active. Instead, please use this document to find your school's new e-mail and password. You may still visit rvaschools.net/interpreter to access a video interpreter.
What is Language Justice?
Language Justice is the intersection between social justice and language access. In an educational setting, like Richmond Public Schools, this means we do more than just provide translation or interpretation services. We value and celebrate all languages and cultures in our school communities and we strive to create welcoming and inclusive school environments for students and families. We do this by providing families with access to interpreters and translated documents so they may make informed decisions about their education. It also means that the translators and interpreters used by the division are properly trained in translation and interpretation techniques as well as cultural competence.
Richmond Public Schools is unwavering in its commitment to language justice and ensuring that every student and family feels valued, heard, and empowered. We recognize that our community is enriched by the diversity of languages and cultures that our students and families bring. #WeLoveYouHere

RPS Language Line
Richmond Public Schools provides bi-directional communication through our Family Language Line and Staff Language Line. The Family Language Line allows families to request an interpreter when calling all schools or departments. The Staff Language Line provides staff with either phone or video interpreters to communicate with families.
