All Are Welcome Here!

The Department of Multilingual Learner Success ensures that every student — regardless of language background — is seen, supported, and successful.

Approximately one in four RPS students receive multilingual services, and the Multilingual Learner Success team works to ensure that students have access to multilingual services, including translation and interpretation, English Learner instruction, and supports that address students' specific needs. The department also oversees the Welcome Center, a one-stop shop where multilingual students and their families can access enrollment assistance, language support, and other essential services. Con Ganas, a program for multilingual learners that supports students' successful high school graduation, is managed by the Coordinator of Alternative Education, a part of the Secondary Success Pathways Department.

The Department of Multilingual Learner Success fosters inclusive practices, a justice-oriented school environment, and cultural-linguistic connections that build belonging, promote bilingualism and biliteracy, and support academic achievement—leading to improved graduation rates and brighter futures for our multilingual learners and their families.

The Multilingual Learner Success Department is responsible for:

  • Language Instruction (Language Instruction Educational Programs, Dual Language Immersion, and World Languages)
  • Interpretation and Translation Services
  • Welcome Center, Newcomer Family and Student Supports
