THRIVE Academy
Program Description
THRIVE Academy is an alternative program that serves students who are over-age, under-credited, and at risk for dropping out of school. Held at RTC-North, students work in an accelerated credit attainment model to recover failed courses and earn initial credit. Blended instruction includes whole and small group direct instruction, project and problem based learning, and classes in the online learning platform Edgenuity. Students benefit from small class sizes, wrap around supports, and access to technical courses at RTC-South. Students attend THRIVE Academy to get extra help, recover credits, and catch up to their cohort. Support is provided for students experiencing chronic absenteeism, school aversion, families in transition, food or housing instability, and more.
