Tuition Reimbursement

Tuition Reimbursement

Richmond Public Schools supports employee professional growth through tuition reimbursement for eligible permanent, full-time employees. For the 2026–2027 fiscal year, employees may receive up to $800 for eligible coursework and certification activities related to job performance or credentials, with up to $500 of that total available for qualifying licensure or certification tests. Reimbursement covers out-of-pocket expenses and is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to available funding. Employees must submit a completed application with required approval signatures, proof of payment, and documentation of successful completion through the Teacher and Leader Pathways submission form within 30 days of completing the course or assessment. Recipients must agree to remain employed with RPS for one school calendar year after receiving reimbursement. For additional information, contact teacherleaderpathways@rvaschools.net.

When applying for tuition reimbursement, you must provide:

  • Completed Application: Download and complete the fillable Application Form (requires your principal or supervisor’s signature).
  • Proof of Completion: Documentation showing successful completion of the requested course and/or assessment.
  • Payment Receipt: A receipt listing you directly as the payee. Third party payments or loans can not be reimbursed.
  • Vendor Form: A completed Employee Vendor Form

Please note, funding is available on a first, come, first serve basis. Emails do not suffice as a formal request. All required materials must be uploaded to the Tuition Reimbursement Portal.

If you have any questions about the reimbursement process, please contact teacherleaderpathways@rvaschools.net.
